It is December 8th and Pippy still has yet to experience a true snow storm. She survived the heat wave of the century in July when she first moved in. 100 degrees for days on end was Pippy's initiation into the Rice family. Now I just want her to experience the joys and pleasures of an Erie, PA snow storm...but no luck yet. The white stuff is staying south, north, east and west of us but not laying a flake on the town affectionatly coined "Dreary Erie."
Well, the snow might not be here yet but it is December and that means Christmas melodies are the only one's I want to pass my ears until after the new years. Every December I come back to one tried and true Christmas album....
Hanson...Snowed In....
It may be totally 90's but I totally love it! Pippy, on the other hand, doesn't seem to grasp its appeal. I danced around the kitchen belting out "Merry Christmas Baby" and Pippy just gave me the look of "who are you and how do I escape?" She wasn't feeling it. I tried out some "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" and "Little Saint Nick" and still she didn't join in the dancing fun. She is a great dog, don't get me wrong, but for the life of me I can't figure out her taste in music.
Hanson is quintessential 90's. Three brothers with voices that ranged from high, higher and very high. They play (and from what I understand still play) guitar, piano and drums along with the vocal talent. From my assessment, they had three heads of hair that had yet to meet a pair of scissors. They had a hit song based on the lyric "MMMbop".... what's not to love?!
You want to know what I think? I think Pippy is just too darn young to appreciate Hanson!
